If Iron Maiden Played on Beat It

This week's post is a special one. I've always loved the 'Beat It' riff played on the record by the great Steve Lukather from Toto. Although the iconic guitar solo by Eddie Van Halen is awesome, the riff is also super cool, and I feel it gets overshadowed by Eddie's solo.

So, for this week's post, I decided to put my own spin on the riff by including an Iron Maiden style harmony part to it. In the video, you'll see the main riff harmonised with another riff and a lead guitar harmony part layered on top.

Adding harmonies is an excellent way to develop your musical ear and understanding of intervals.
